Program Counselor
Coordinates, educational enrichment, social and recreational programming for children and their families living with HIV/AIDS. Maintains and strengthens community relations. Serves on small creative, highly collaborative team.
- Research and coordinate on-site programming, taking initiative to secure innovative options
- Coordinate schedules with team members, particularly the appointments of the individual therapist and the group therapist, as well as guest facilitators, to ensure smooth service delivery, especially between 4and 8 p.m.
- Actively cultivate effective relationships with adult and child clients
- Organize special events for family and child outings, occasionally occurring outside of regular program hours.
- Coordinate between program service team and executive director, maintaining a work plan at six month intervals
- Represent Pediatric Care and maintain community contacts, collaborations and resources, most practically with transportation and food services
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA in related field, youth development, grief counseling a plus
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and experience working with children, as well as a highly tuned professional team
- Demonstrated desire to work in the HIV/AIDS community
Additional Requirements: This position is full time. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.
Circle of Care Coordinator (Part Time)
Provide psycho-social assessment, case planning and implementation to families affected by HIV-AIDS; Provide specialized psychosocial consultation and HIV entitlement counseling to clients and connect families with community agencies and social service providers
- Provide culturally and linguistically sensitive case management to 7-10 families. Will assist in collaboration among agencies and schools, ensure appropriate utilization of resources, aid in compliance and ensure continuity of service provision across agencies and disciplines.
- Identify, enroll and assist clients to support access to medications. Coordinates entitlement process to assist in timely paperwork, reducing number of uninsured patients and continuity of care.
- Conduct psycho-social assessments of patients and families to provide recommendations for managing illness, reduce psycho-social stressors, and maximize compliance and enhance quality of life.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in social work or related field required.
- Prior case management experience preferred.
- Must have current DC Social Work Licensure (LGSW) Requires a basic knowledge of DC schools system and related youth organizations.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and flexibility are essential.
- Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations required. Bilingual a plus.
Additional Requirements: This position is part-time, 20-25 hours a week. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required, case manager should be prepared to make occasional home and school visits to better serve the client.

Fall Interns
Pediatric AIDS HIV Care offers paid internships to an energetic team of fall interns to assist with special projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals interested in learning about employment in the non-profit sector, as our interns have the opportunity to explore many facets of managing a successful non-profit organization.
We are looking for driven, organized, and articulate individuals to participate in a very hands-on, fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidates will have an interest in non-profits, youth development and/or HIV/AIDS and must be passionate about ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Public Health Intern
Internships focusing on health and nutrition issues, hiv/aids stigma, tobacco prevention. Also a vigorous program focused on reducing the harm caused by HIV/AIDS Stigma.
Development Intern
The intern will work primarily on development work but may also assist with a variety of projects ranging from policy research to event coordination.
Communications Intern
The intern will work on a variety of communications projects ranging from writing and sending out press releases to developing content for and updating the website.
Outreach Intern
The intern will work on establishing links with other CBO’s, faith community and health care organization in Wards hardest hit by HIV/AIDS but will also include; attending education focused networking events; and coordinating meetings.

Special Events
For the Children fall event is October 16th at the Historical Society of Washington, DC from 6 – 9. Volunteers are need for the following support:
- Picture framing and posting October 9 -16th (evening 3 – 7)
- Event set up Oct 16th 4pm – 6pm
- Registration Table 6pm – 7:30 pm
- Floaters 6pm – 8pm
- Breakdown 8:30pm – 9:30 pm
Holiday Incentive Program provides youth with reward points for academic and behavior success. Volunteers are needed to solicit donations, set up incentive store and wrapping station and provide help with Holiday meal preparation.

Administrative
Pediatric Care offers a warm and nurturing environment where volunteers assist staff with various administrative and clerical duties. Duties can include filing, compiling mailings, collating various information packets, periodically answering the phone, and other miscellaneous tasks. Some task may include assisting staff at special events. Hours vary depending on projects but average 2 -4 hours per week.
